Dronfest

‘Dronfest’ (Rhythm & Boots)

“How time flies”.

It's 15 years ago since the Dronfield Charity Music Festival began and this year, under the new title of "Dronfest" Rhythm & Boots 2014, it is returning to where it all began behind the Coach & Horses on Sunday 3rd August 2014.

In conjunction with Sheffield Football Club, we will be part of a full weekend of music & football. Sheffield F.C. will be hosts to Austrian side PSV Salzburg on Saturday 2nd August; Kick Off 3 p.m. and after the match, starting at 5.30 p.m. there will be live music in the Coach & Horses, Sheffield Road, DRONFIELD.

On Sunday 3rd August "Dronfest" starts the music at 12.00hrs with a combination of 17 acts on the Main Stage and the Acoustic tent, with various genres of music to satisfy everyone's taste.

This year’s event will raise money for Sincere Support, St John Ambulance, Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice, Ashgate Hospice and Dronfield Cardio Club.

As always we will be catering for the young families who attend each year and there will be the obligatory bouncy castle & inflatable slide, face painting and the children's workstation as well as a treasure hunt for the young ones.

As for Mum & Dad & Grandma & Granddad, there will various offerings of food & drink along with a variety of stalls including Tombola, Hair Stylists from Harley's of Chesterfield, clairvoyant, massages and Henna tattoos. Thornbridge Brewery will be providing the bar and serving up some of their range of cask beers that use traditional recipes but provide a modern twist through the use of a wide range of hops, malts and the innovation and passion of the brewing team. (They have now won over 350 national and international awards).

In addition, on Sunday 3rd August, Sheffield F.C. will re-stage the very first football derby against old rivals Hallam F.C. kicking off at 2 p.m. Anyone who buys a ticket for the Sunday Festival, also gets free admission to both of the football matches.

The organisers hope that the success of the event will continue into the future and they are always looking for sponsorship and people young or old who would like to get involved in any way they can. If you’re interested in music and want to lend a hand, get in touch with John Aspinall on the number below.
